When I stopped with ‘Jolly Roger’, I decided to end organizing parties completely. I still liked the name of that party and the Logo Design I did for it though. Since the ‘Jolie Rouge’ was the old name of the Pirate flag, it became the name for my Logo Design, Flags & Backdrop department.

In 2007 I was asked to put up a program one sunday a month in Winston Kingdom in Amsterdam. It was to be a Rock n’ Roll party called SideburnsStomp. I did everything myself and made a lot of backdrops for the bands that came and play on stage. Later I decided to change the name into Jolly Roger. That name made the flyer ‘concept’ easier to come up with. Under that name there where a few more editions, but in the end I pulled the plug. Too quiet! The bands you see here, with the backdrops in the background, are The Bloody Demons, The Body Bags and G.O.H. (Photo’s of G.O.H. taken by Willeke). From here I want to thank everyone who was involved and played on stage!

I’ve been clear about this. I’ m not a tattoo-artist. There are friends of mine who have a Design from me tattooed on their body though. I try to be very personal when it comes to these kind of designs. In fact everything I create for somebody else is customized. This tattoo was based on this persons first name spelled out in runic script. In ancient times each rune sign had a deeper magical meaning. That meant that combining runic symbols you could create a strong spell. These combined runes are called binding-runes. Here you see a very personal binding-rune, consisting of the runic symbols of the persons first name. So this is also on a deeper level a very personal Tattoo Design.
