Illustrations & Tattoo designs

|

Here are some photo’s of Tattoo Designs I did for friends. Again, I’m no tattoo-artist! The dragon design is my version of the coat of arms of  ’The Blood Countess’, Erzebetha Bathory. At the time I didn’t know what it looked like and it had to be a band-like ornament. The second design had to be two butterfly wings. One whole, and one broken. The third design was again a binding-rune design (see Tattoo post for more details on Binding-runes). On the neck of the wolf you can see the Binding-rune. Another good example is the top Design. It actually was the first Binding-rune tattoo I designed.

Personal Illustration

|

This is an Ex Libris I made for myself. It’s very personal and customized. The Heraldic shields are from the places I was born and where I’ve lived so far. The goat represents Capricorn and the tiger my chinese astrological symbol. In every corner there’s a symbol as well: left top, the Capricorn sign, right top, the chinese tiger character, left bottom, the sign of Saturnus and right bottom the element earth symbol. The rest of the little images are personal icons. I’ve done these kind of personal pictures for several people either in the form of an Illustration or in the form of Tattoo Designs (I just design them). Examples will follow later.

I will continue with more Wildkat art later.  I wanted to show you more illustrations. I think the first Illustration will bring back memories to a lot of people who attended the Medusa parties. The Gothic Ankh design was and still is a flag that used to hang on the wall at the venue. The Oseberg 1 Design is based on a helmhead-carving found with the Oseberg vikingship. The Oseberg 2 Design is a fragment taken from an ornament of a Norwegian stavkirke.

Illustration of Fenrir the Wolf

This Illustration changed over the years. First it was a more  ‘tribal’ like design, because it was to be a Tattoo Design. It was never tattooed though. The concept I’ve always liked, but I was never really satisfied with the several results, until I made the other Illustration (below).
